Patrick Fore is a commercial photographer & art director with over 15 years of professional graphic design and photography experience. Patrick brings a creative perspective and a technical eye to any project.

With over 15 years of experience in photography, graphic design, and art direction, I bring a strategic blend of artistry and marketing insight to every project. My career began in graphic design at a small agency in Iowa, where I quickly became fascinated by how photography could enhance my design work. This fascination turned into a passion, leading me to transition fully into photography.

For four years, I led brand imaging at Taylor Guitars, crafting visuals for a globally recognized brand and photographing Grammy award-winning artists. My work has been published worldwide, from product photography to lifestyle imagery that tells a compelling story.

My approach is simple: I believe in collaboration and clear communication. I work closely with creative teams to build detailed shot lists and mood boards, ensuring the vision aligns with the client’s brand and goals. Whether I’m shooting a product or a portrait, I thrive on creating images that balance bold creativity with purpose-driven strategy. Lighting, color, and contrast are key elements I use to tell stories that resonate.

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me spending time with my family or riding through Southern California on my Triumph Thruxton cafe racer. Photography and design may be my professional focus, but staying grounded in family and personal passions keeps my creative fire going.

How did you get started in photography?

My background is in graphic design and advertising. One of my first graphic design gigs was at a small agency in Iowa, where they had a studio camera that I quickly became obsessed with. I had always liked photography, but I was so stoked when I figured out how to incorporate that skill into my design work. Over time, I found myself thinking about and pursuing photography over design. However, graphic design is still a significant interest. Working with creative teams on marketing projects scratches that itch.

What is your favorite thing to photograph?

People. Humans are the most interesting and compelling subjects because everyone is so different. It’s a different shooting experience for every person. Beyond people, I love the technical aspect of shooting products. I love using lights to create something unique and beautiful, whether a guitar or a pair of shoes.

How do you approach your work?

I ask many questions and want to ensure I understand the target I’m being hired to hit. I do this by collaborating with clients and creating a shotlist and mood board that will work for both of us. As a photographer for brands, I don’t believe surprises should exist. As a client, you’re always in the loop and will (hopefully) know what your images will look like before we begin to shoot. The more precise that target is to hit, the better the project will go.
